During inspections and exterminations, our GTA pest control specialists get a lot of questions about our treatment options for insects and wildlife. We love talking to the people we help out, but if you have any questions before your appointment, we hope the following FAQ can give you the answers you want!
How long should I expect to see results?
Depending on the type of service you require and the treatment method we use, the results may vary. As an example, you will see immediate results when you require a hornet’s nest removed, but if you require to bait for ants, it may take a few days for the poison to spread through the entire colony. When you call us for a service, we will outline the timeline for the extermination and how long it should take.
Why should I hire a professional?
Some people think they can control their infestation of insects or the raccoons that made their way into the attic, but that usually ends with more headaches and money spent than if you went with a professional company. An expert and licensed pest professional can find the source of the infestation to eliminate the problem more effectively.
What’s the difference between sprays and baits?
If you have young children or pets in the home, baits will be a safer option and will give you peace of mind knowing everybody in your home is safe while the infestation is getting taken care of. Although, we may recommend a spray option depending on the type of infestation you have and the severity.
Are multiple treatments actually required for bed bugs and fleas?
Bed bugs and fleas are notorious hiders and can move around easily without getting detected. If you have an infestation, the main location of the colony may move from place to place. Having multiple treatments is insurance to make sure that all the bed bugs or fleas are eliminated.
The pests are inside my home, why are you treating the outside?
Although the pests are congregating inside your home, they are trying to find food to bring to their colony, which is usually located outside of the house. At Contact Pest Control, we stop the infestation at the source! If we find that the source of the infestation is inside, we do have environmentally safe options to eliminate the problem.
